Since 2005, Pure Potential has helped over one million students to make informed choices about their future pathways. We believe that every young person should have access to quality advice and free opportunities regardless of their gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background. This is why we work in partnership with leading employers, universities, schools and colleges to ensure students from the state sector receive the support they need.
Social mobility was not a well-known term back in 2005, nor was it top of the agenda for most. From day one we recognised the imbalance between students from the state and independent sectors, and we have worked hard over the past ten years to remove barriers to higher education and the professions.
We have captured our story in our celebratory report, 10 Years of Pure Potential. The report includes a special foreword from The Rt. Honourable Alan Milburn, Chair of the Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission, who commends our work, the positive impact we have had on young people, and the contributions we have made to the sector. We hope that you will join us in our celebrations by reading our report.
We feel proud of the positive effect we have had on social mobility, and are even more proud of the students we have worked with and all that they have achieved, but we know that there is plenty more to be done! This means being at the heart of increased collaboration between schools, colleges, universities and employers. It means being responsive to those we serve and innovative with technology to help serve them. We hope that you will help us to make this happen through supporting our work, investing in our projects and sharing good practice, to enable more bright, talented students from state schools and colleges across the UK go on to fulfill their potential.
