PP: Maths Masterclass
Come and experience Maths at Cambridge...
For the third year, Pure Potential is teaming up with the University of Cambridge to run an event for mathematically talented state-school students who are considering applying to a maths-related subject at Cambridge. This year's event will offer students the opportunity to experience top undergraduate teaching during mock-lectures, speak with current Cambridge students and hear about how to apply to one of the leading maths faculties in the world.
The event is taking place on Saturday, 9th February 2013 (11.00 - 15.30) at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge.
The event is run by the University and they usually charge £10 per student to attend, but they have kindly allocated 100 of their places - free of charge - to Pure Potential's most able and ambitious students.
Eligibility
In order to apply to this event, you must meet the following criteria:
- In Year 12 studying at a state school or college
- Achieved an A* grade in your Maths GCSE
- Studying Maths at A-Level and be on target to achieve an A
- Be interested in maths, or a maths-related degree such as computer science, economics, engineering, physics, etc.
Applications for this event have now closed. Those students who have applied for a place will receive an email from Pure Potential on Friday, 1st February with our decision. Please note, we cannot enter into any correspondence regarding individual applications.
This event has been very popular in the past and we have received extremely positive feedback and results: of the 180 students who attended this event in 2011, 48 students (26%) went on to apply to the University of Cambridge and 21 students were offered a place (44%).
If you have any questions about the event, please email binda[at]purepotential.org or call 020 7122 1220.
